Well Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!! :]
I hope it was splendid for every one of you Turkeys out there!!!
I have been out of town and not had time to post; but let me tell you something, dolls! I ate so much I thought I was going to have roll instead of walk! There was so much food, there were 13 desserts alone....ALONE. THATS NOT EVEN THE BIG GIANTIC DINNER BUFFET THAT WE HAD!!!! Of course we fed a lot of people, but everyone could have had leftovers for days. I will have pictures of the whole shebang up soon. :] For now I wanted to post and not feel like I was abandoning this little behbeh.

So cats. Catwoman. Cat Burglars. <3 (I actually hate cats as in housecats, but we'll say I'm talking about our more fabulous, large-and-in-charge furry feline friends. See: Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Panthers, oh my!!! ;] )
My friend and I have a little running joke that I'm catwoman in the D.C. world.
And who wouldn't want to be her? This version I mean, of course. Gorgeous!

It started when I was a jewel thief for halloween, you see.
Very Catwoman-esque, the whole stealing and lurking around. (No, I didnt really steal anything. I'm sorry to disappoint you, loves. But you know, you can't just be taking things too far!!!)
Even Katherine Hepburn had a pet leopard in Bringing Up Baby, which I am still dying to see. Can you just imagine?!

My dear friend, T.J. was in the hospital. He was discharged while I was there. Thank God he's alright! I got the text from a mutual friend and jumped out of bed and I hurried to his side. You can't let friends know how much you love them enough! And I brought him a Captain America Comic. <3

Good Evening, Gentlemen. This post, tonight, is for you. While I had planned to hold myself back and only discuss sweaters, because this could turn into a marathon post of the likes of which neither you or I have the time for, I will just have to trudge on and share...a lot. So bear with me because I don't have a lot of time.

Now, Some guys like sweaters. Some don't like sweaters. You should. The right sweater on a guy can look so so handsome. You need confidence. And to help you, I'm going to offer some of the fall 2011 sweater trends and looks to inspire you. Try some out!

Dolce and Gabbana

One of the big color trends this fall was red. Here, Dolce and Gabbana continued that trend with a red and black striped sweater and red jeans. My suggestion is not to go with the matching pants to the color, although it is adorable here. My suggestion here isn't so much red, as it is to do a striped sweater! They're sporty, classic, and so on point right now. Almost anyone can pull one off, you just need to try out different silhouettes to make sure which works for you.

The Chunky Oversized Cardigan

Note: I don't condone you walking around without a shirt underneath your cardi, boys.

a plaid shirt or a solid will work just fine.

This is a carryover from other seasons, which means that the chunky cardigan is one of the classic staples that every guy needs.

Pair them with tailored jeans(doesn't necessarily mean skinny, just means your jeans fit!) and combat boots for a trendy, masculine feel or with loafers for a preppy, laid back vibe.

I personally love the off-white and the navy version of this type of sweater.

If it's too hot where you are, opt for a Grandpa Cardigan. Classic, clean, and ultra-popular, these cardigans work with everything from button downs to striped tees to screen tees.

Nordic

I don't know if a lot of you who read this will be diving into this trend but for the sake of sharing, just in case...
Nordic sweaters came back and started to become big last fall.
They're preppy and definitely on trend right now.

Now, before we discuss suits and ties, I think we should cover jackets.

But before all of that, here is what you need to know:

LOOKING LIKE A MODERN GENTLEMAN IS THE GOAL.

Think about classics but you can add fresh twists.

And you don't have to have a lot of money because most of these pieces can be found in vintage shops or your grandfather's closet.

1. The Velvet Blazer.

I cannot even stress to you how luxurious, classy, and essential the velvet jacket is to a man's wardrobe.

It's been my belief for a while, and much to my happiness, when I got to IBC, one of the teachers who likes to dress well was stressing this belief while wearing one in a regal shade of navy blue.

A quote from another blogger who has fab taste:

"So don't just think fall/winter means wool and cashmere, take a risk and mix velvet into your wardrobe. I guarantee you'll get compliments, it's a fabric people always want to wear but not many actually do it. Take a risk and buy a nice velvet blazer for fall and it can be dressed up and down, you'll definitely get some miles out of it."

Add one to khakhi.

Add one to grey pants.

Add a velvet jacket to nice jeans.

JUST REMEMBER:

It's one thing to look impeccable, it's another thing to make impeccable look effortless.

That is the key with this piece.

It's so fun to play with.

And the watch is a replica of the Bvlgari snake watch. The funny thing is, I didn't even see the Bvlgari version until after I bought the Avon one. Of course, I screamed with joy when I saw it.

And I bought a new book this week and I cannot put it down! It's called Unclaimed Heart by Kim Wilkins and it's so good! So far at least. If you like historical fiction, then this is a treat. I've always been a fan of historical fiction for as long as I can remember, as well as the sea. So this book has been perfect for me. I would tell you what it's about but I kind of want you to look it up for yourself. All I shall mention is mystery, adventure at sea, possible piracy, tropical island, and a good lookin tall, dark, and handsome young man who comes into the picture. It's not one of those trashy romance novels, I am sorry to disappoint you. However, if they don't end up together, I'm going to be in agony.

Hello to all of you out in the blogosphere!

I will spare you all of the boring details as to why I embarrasingly posted yesterday an exact week from the previous Special Dress Tuesday.

Just know, I've been sick and busy.

Now, back to business...

I love fashion and I love styling.

Part of why I started this blog was to talk about how to dress modestly and in fashion at the same time.

And I am going to start a series of posts, starting today, for all of my Apostolic ladies and gentlemen out there who are going to National Youth Convention, Holiday Conventions, and/or whatever big conferences there are that they want to shop for. (I know you do, don't pretend that you already had those clothes in your closet, guys! ;] ) Or, if you want to mix things up with the clothes that you do own.

If you know me, you know that I love a good chunky sweater.

There's something so impeccably cozy and beautiful about them.

And so, after I saw this Teen Vogue spread the other day, as I happily flipped through November's issue, I was immediately inspired!

So lovely and so sweet.

I'm actually wearing a big chunky sweater right now, lol.

They're so on trend right now, but the key to styling a sweater is that little something extra-think mixing textures.(leather, sequins, glitter, fur, corduroy, color..)

Note the sheer polka dotted slip peeking out from beneath the sweater dress and the sparkly oxfords!

I love a good sparkle and they are the ultimate in adding an extra something to a sweater.

Note the fur hat, here. (I realize that it's above her knees. Work with me, here, people. There are some that go to your knees. But, if you can't find one, I reccomend pairing a big chunky sweater with a jean pencil skirt instead.) Also note the socks peeking out from above her leather boots.

And speaking of leather... Don't shy away! Leather skirts are one of my most favorite things in the world!

Pencil or circle.

Now, this has got to be one of my favorite pairings. A thin sweatshirt/sweater with an interesting circle skirt. You can pair this with a loafer (so hot right now) or a pair of babydoll pumps with socks.

It can even be a chunky sweater or a striped one...

And let's not get started on striped sweaters, cause that could be an entire post on it's own...

And lastly for today, PRINTED PENCIL SKIRTS!!! (this will probably be another post within itself. I've got some things stored away for that one)

There's a lot more inspiration to come, but I've got some work to do.

My grandmother has been in the hospital, so I haven't had much time to blog.

She's doing ok but it's just a process of getting her able to be herself again so she can be at home.

Meanwhile, this editorial just makes me stop, hold my breath, and smile at the magic and whimsy of these dresses.

Gorgeous.

Working at a clothing store, one of my favorite things to see is the incredible moment when a girl steps into a dress that makes her feel special.

The things it will do!

I've seen the most tomboy-sh of girls instantly start smiling and prancing around the dressing room with a killer confidence that they have never known!

And their response is usually "I didn't know I could look like this"

*sigh*

Ladies, say yes to the dress!

I love this song. I love this band. I love this song. I love their message. Listen. It will get in your head and heart. I go to the same school that the lead singer went to. I listened to him on the school cd's when I was a teenager. They just got accepted to be on the WOW 2012 album. So proud of them. It's so important to stay true to yourself and what you believe. Cause they did just that and God's gotten them there.

Scripture of the Day

Do not be evious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them; For their heart devises violence. And their lips talk of troublemaking. Proverbs 24:1-2

You know those people that don't have integrity and they lie and step on others? They say awful things to people and they just seem to do all kinds of mischevious and unethical things and somehow get ahead? Well...don't be jealous of those people. Don't want to be like them. Don't be like them. They will not get ahead forever. Soon, that behavior is going to catch up with them and at some point, they will fall. Do the right thing and have integrity. Do things the right way. It won't go unrewarded, because you won't be the one having to lie to cover your tracks and you will be able to enjoy your hard work. You will be proud of yourself for doing the right thing and you will be surprised at how far a little integrity can take you even if it doesn't feel like it all the time. A true lady or gentleman is full of integrity and is kind. In this world, be that difference that we need to see. It's always classy.

I haven't done a scripture of the day in a while. That one jumped out at me today. When that happens, it's always best to really explore it and expound/journal on it. It's like a personal growth kind of thing. They taught us that at school last fall. I dare you to try it sometime. Even if your not a Christian or never really got into anything, Proverbs is full of just plain wise advice. I dare you to try it for a week. Every day, read a part and the part that you want to journal on, do it. And when you don't feel inspired, just do it. It could be a poem, or a quote or whatever. I can promise you that some of that wise advice in Proverbs has saved me a time or two from some uncomfortable situations. I might do this more often.

Well anyway, it's Milan Fashion Week!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! Just watched Emporio Armani and Pucci. I liked Armani a lot. As for Pucci, there was a red tuxedo jacket with sequined sleeves that stole my attention. I liked the skirts, but I'll need to see them styled. I'm sure they'll grow on me. Right now, it's a little too 2005 bohemian skirt. But like I said, I'll probably love it come spring. Birthday Party tonight for my sweet, fabulous friend Megan. It will be crazy I'm sure. I ended up getting her a gift card. Is that too impersonal? Meanwhile, I'd love to wear this to any event, beit birthday party or lounging at home...

ADR killin it as always with The Man Repeller, I believe.
They both rock. I bet she never thought she'd be walking alongside that fabulous woman at fashion week one day...
And I mean that for the both of them. :] Lucky Ducks.

Said my HILARIOUS friend, Megan, who was referring to the night when we shall be making fabulous hair accessories to sell on Saturday at a town fall celebration nearby.

She must have lost her dang mind, children.

However, I know that I've lost my mind typing this because that's probably what's going to happen.

I was shopping at the new store in our mall called Love Culture.

It's pretty adorable, I must say.

But I was loving this outfit. Reminded me of Elvis.

Especially when I added the leather jacket that night.

I'd like to start out this post by saying that I loved reading your comments and I am thankful for all of the sweet ones about school. However, I came to say that I am not at school after all. The money DID come in and I am so grateful! I was so excited. However, multiple extenuating circumstances got in the way and I decided to stay home this semester. I want to be there, but I am happy that I stayed home. I know this probably sounds a little strange. I was going to leave that morning but when you know you don't need to do something, you just know. Some of it has to do with sick family. And it was confirmed after I made the decision in multiple ways. I do know I made the right decision. And I WILL be going back in January. So it's no big deal. I wanted to share this because I am personal in my blog, and I felt that if I shared about school money, then, I wanted to share about this. it'd get a little weird when I wasn't posting about school. lol. I am a little disappointed and I miss school a lot. I suppose part of the reason I hadn't posted is because I just didn't feel like talking about it. BUT, I have a lot of plans this fall and things to look forward to (I might be going to spend a day shopping in Chicago soon!!!) and I'm going to continue to work at the store and help my youth group.

This is not one of those ordeals where I am going to keep not going because I stayed home one semester and I just don't feel like going back. I am very persistant about school. So noooo feeling sorry or sad or disappointed for me. OK? OK! :] Thanks for listening.

Now that THAT part of the post is over, Onto the fashion. :D

If anyone had never heard of Dsquared^2 before The Rachel Zoe Project, they had definitely heard of the Caten brothers' genius by now. Brad, Rachel's former Style Director, consistently dressed to the nines mostly to the thanks of this brilliant label. And why not? They're fun, young, and fresh as well as clean and chic. There's no question that they-if not already-are legends in the making. I just love their Resort 2012 collection. Maybe it has to do with my infatuation with the seventies, but even though a lot of designers focused on more contemporary fashion for their Resort 2012 collections, I couldn't help but be inspired while trolling through the collection on style.com. If you know me, you are absolutely sure that I love a good jacket. So naturally, I was crazy about the color block trench and the color block leather-tweed jacket. Everything is so fun! I can't wait to dress girls like this at work. Have a look for yourself.

I'm thinking of re-doing my room and bathroom.

Oh, how I just adore vintage!!

Definitely worthy of Special Dress Tuesday.

Yes, I've posted on Monday but it's really for Tuesday!

I will never get tired of vintage ensembles.

This dress is is so glamourous and adorable, I couldn't NOT post.

I would totally wear this dress today.

Beautiful well made clothes last a lifetime and they tell a story.

And that is one story that is worth remembering!

Lately, I've been thinking about packing and laundry!

Though, it seems all I've done is be lazy.

And the occasional laundry load.

But I'm thinking about this year at school.

It's going to be a new year with new faces.

There's a lot of things that scare me.

I've got some things I want to achieve.

And I'm just going to have to put on a brave face and well, face them if I want to succeed.

God is my strength.

I can do all things through Christ and I will do these things!!

That's what I keep trying to tell myself.

But noone successful ever got anywhere telling themselves any different.

Here's a word of advice to any new school students, anyone aspiring to anything, and myself:

My friend Joseph told me this recently...

"Get that dream (goal, aspiration) real good and set in your heart and mind...And Don't stop chasing it until you get there"

I preached it Sunday night at church!

I think people liked it.

And now that I think about it...oddly enough that I'm kind of talking about the same thing in this post...

It was about never losing your joy, praise, and cause.

You know, not giving up, even when you think you're in some sort of trouble or distress.

And I promised that I would post it for those who wanted to read it.

So, I will do just that soon.

Walk Softly and Carry a Big Bunch of Goodies

I just bought these shoes yesterday at Charlotte Russe. I adore the colour!! I've been waiting for them to come back in stock so I could grab them in my size and when I bought them, they were the only 6 left!

The only problem is that they are so SO so tall.

I know that they don't look tall, but trust me. I feel like I look like a baby giraffe wobbling around.

It' very weird because I have the same same shoes in a different colour from Charlotte and they don't feel this steep.

Yes, normally that would be a good thing. I'm so little!

However, they're so tall that I'm scared I'm going to fall over while walking in them.

And looking like a darn fool while walking around in shoes that are tall for you to handle is not chic.

So I was thinking of maybe exchanging them for something...

I'm so sorry.

All I can say is my internet has been on the fritz but I'm back now.

I feel so out of touch but I haven't missed out completely.

My childhood friend from Jamaica is coming to school here this fall and has moved here.

It's been a blast with her so far.

Mixing prints has been in fashion this year since the spring.

And, yes, you CAN pull this off.

Let's take a look at why this outfit works so well, as explained by Coco+Kelley and added on things by me:

1. The colors are neutral enough that its not too crazy.

(Notice that there is black in the dress and the jacket.)

2. It's still unexpected enough that its sooo awesome.

3. She also kept things kind of simple with her hair and accessories.

(Though I believe that if she went a little more flashy, this still would have rocked)

3. The shapes are classic. The silhouettes of the jacket and the dress are simple and not too crazy so that everything flows together.

You CAN mix prints if you have still been too chicken to do so.

Hey dears! Youre lookin mighty fine. How is your life? Are you having fun this summer? I hope so. You deserve it.

But how are you all battling this heat? I'm telling you, it's hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell here. That's just the south for ya. Meanwhile....

I can't even begin to describe how much I'm loving bright colors lately. I colorblocked the other day. I wish I had of gotten a picture because it was adorable and so much fun! Even this weird older man stopped me on my break and told me I looked beautiful and could have been a model. I would have enjoyed it, had he not grabbd my hand with his own odly moist hand. *gag* Needless to say, I dashed away like mad and found a humungous bottle of hand sanitizer. Creepy Men always seem to find me. It never fails...

Anyway. I spy leopard print! Ohhh leopard print. Im so in love and craving it lately...Ill have to save a post for it. But just know I want it!

So cute! Except don't put it with a leather (or even worse, pleather! Those suckers dont breath. It's a hot tranny mess waiting to happen) jacket(as shown above) in this heat and die of a heat stroke. I would feel responsible and really bad for you and your bad, sweaty judgement. Stay cool, darlings!! I really think I am going to try one of those big baggy tees with it. It looks so comfortable and I could get away with it for class.

I just bought a striped maxi skirt too. Except I'm on the short side...towering at just 5'0 and 3/4 of an inch. So that means cutting it. I always seems to botch these things up too. Do any of you ever have to cut your maxi frocks? Or do you just spend the money and have it altered?

Special Dress Tuesday

Can we talk about how gorgeous Giambattista's 1st Couture line was?

It was epic. He really knows how to make beautiful clothes.

I actually had found my dream wedding dress in Vogue one time and it was custom made for someone by him. It was a full skirt covered in layers of tulle.

Then, the skirt came off for the reception to reveal a mermaid silhouetted gown that was so dreamy, I may have drooled all over the picture.

Here is a blurry pic and the black and white picture on the magazine page is what the dress looked like without the full skirt. *sigh*

I have dreamt and dreamt about that dress for my own wedding one day.

It seems all my mom and I talk about these days are weddings.

I love Summer. I love warm nights when your clothes and skin are sticky but there's a cool breeze caressing you and blowing your hair all messy. I love good music good food and good friends in the summer.

Hi. I have been a bad blogger this week Apparently so much that I lost a follower. (hater! I have a life!) and all I can say is that work has worn me out so much! Life has been trying to beat me up emotionally. However, I'm not going to let it. :) And tonight, I went out to this country music night downtown on Beale St. Yes, that famous Beale Street in Memphis.

"AND I WAS WALKIN IN MEMPHIS. WALKIN' WITH MY FEET TEN FEET OFF OF BEALE..."

Oh Memphis, you know? The Birthplace of Rock and Roll. :) Home of the Blues. THE BEST BBQ YOU WILL EVER PUT TO YOUR LIPS! Some say it's so good, you could slap yo' mamma. I say...Almost. I love her too much. :p

Anyway, I don't even like country music too much. But this was great. I went with my best friend boy, Thomas. We met some friends Jessica and Cody who just got married and ate at a burger place called Dyers. Right there in that little burger place that's been around Memphis since the 30's...I had a taste of heaven. A deep fried chocolate twinkie with powdered sugar and strawberry sauce! Oh glitter, it was one off-the-hook rager for my tastebuds! It's times like these that I need a camera. And guess which genius didnt take one? This girl. There was a fight. We witnessed some crazy arrests. I played Don't Stop Believing over 5 times in a row on the way home. My beard fetish grew lots more from drooling over the band's bassist.

I needed tonight. SO MUCH.

Hello all. I hope you dolls had a fabulous weekend!
The fish fry was a blast.

Someone made peach cobbler and homemade icecream. I had homemade chocolate with the cobbler.

It was so good, I think my tongue rolled out of my mouth onto the floor. And a bunch of us gals sat around watching Say Yes to the Dress while the men played games. We also watched Drop Dead Diva. If you haven't seen either, you should definitley watch them!
Then on Sunday, I went to church and my dad tore the house down preaching. There is nothing like when you can feel like a sermon was meant just for you. Like God had you in mind when He inspired the preacher for that service. Then, that night, I went into work...and left with a mannequin! We were getting rid of old ones and I asked them for one. My company was so gracious to give me one. I am in love with it! I need to name it. Right now her name is Roxanne. :]

My apologies for not posting yesterday. I simply just didn't feel like it.

Today I went to T.J Maxx. I adore T.J. Maxx. Who doesn't? I had so many things in my hand but I cant spend a lot of money right now. I don't need to spend any at all. But I bought a striped maxi skirt and this shirt:

This is obviously not me. I just googled the shirt and snatched the image. I think this belongs to forevertwentysomething. Correct me if Im wrong.

I just couldn't resist the shirt though. :]

There's a pocker under "blog" It was super cute and only $7.99. Can't beat that!

Now onto Special Dress Tuesday. I just want more dresses altogether. I found one today im kicking myself over. I am just going to have to go back and get it. Plain and Simple.

Stripes! Maybe it's too late for me to post this. I dont really care!

Ive been inspired right from the pages of Glamour Magazine.

And from F21 today.

It's still summer and I cannot get enough.

It's the middle of summer actuallyyyyyy

I'm going to a fish fry in the country tonight.

That's right.

Good ole sweet tea, fried fish, cole slaw, french fries, and hush puppies!!!

I'm praying to God someone makes peach cobbler, too. My tongue would roll out of my mouth, probably.

YOU CAN'T BEAT SOUTHERN FOOD!

Besides, sushi of course.

So today, I headed into work at 7 :30 A.M. to move Mannequins and boxes.

It's riveting, I know.

BUT, I quite enjoy working mornings. And I enjoy work because I love all the possibilities I have to style a customer. She walks in and tells me her story and where she's going. (Yes, in the south, everyone tells you their life story. It is necesary for me to know their business so I can them find an outfit. Why? Noone actually really knows. But I keep up with my customers' lives. We build relationships that way)

And we take a journey around the store as I learn her likes and dislikes.

She agrees to try new things and get out of her comfort zone.

I agree to not bling her out, though that is my favorite thing to do.

And sometimes she we disagree. Sometimes we agree.

Sometimes I try to force customers and my associates to buy things that I love because I already spent MY money. So I vicariously try to shop through them.

But she leaves happy and smiling because she looks fabulous.

And thats what its all about!

The whole experience of working in a mall is quite enjoyable.

Yesterday, I was having an ok day. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing.

Then, I went on break and got a new Coconut Mocha Frap from Starbucks (which was divine), heard some kickin blues music as I waited for it, read some great words about faith and artistry mixing, and saw colors and textures in store windows. It's a beautiful sensory overload.

And it lifted my mood instantly.

And sometimes its all a load of crap and I want to strangle people.

Sometimes, when youre tired or grumpy, you just need a pick me up.

Go out and see things. Taste things. Get inspired!

That's my challenge to you this weekend, whether youre tired and grumpy, or not.

Just get inspired!

Oh and go pick up some colorful stripes this weekend because you need it.

(I'm forcing a purchase on you. Feel the peer pressure.)

Mine wasn't without difficulty, I wont lie. But I'm staying positive. Thats what ya gotta do sometimes. Its a new day.
Thank you all for your wonderful feedback. It really put a smile on my face! I read every single comment and I appreciate them immensely. Every one of you who comment follow or even simply read are awesome.

I haven't finished the sermon yet, but I will put it up when its finished for those who want to read it. I got a request for it and I'd be happy to share. You can leave me feedback on it and let me know what you think. And Im very down to earth. I like to hear honest feedback.

So, Yesterday, I wore this new top that I got at Cherish during my trip to Texas. My friend Bethany brought peaches that she picked herself to sell at church. I'm telling you right here and now that fresh picked peaches are ten times better than the kind you get in your produce aisle. I dont know how, but they were juicier and sweeter THAN ANY OTHER PEACH I'VE EVER HAD. <3 I heart peaches. If you have an orchard in your town, GO! Go with a sweetie or your girlfriends and spend the day picking peaches. You wont regret it :]This is my first outfit post in a while. Ive been wanting to incorporate more outfit posts into this blog. Sorry for the bad quality. They were taken on a phone. All thanks to T.J. though for being my photographer. :] He's one of my bff's. Love Him.

Hello Dollies!
Ive been waiting to post again until I could upload pictures from my trip, but unfortunately that will have to wait a bit longer.
In case youre wondering, I ever cleaned my room.
I did in fact sit in front of the computer for hours upon end...like a little lump with no life-just as I said I was going to do. *sigh* life goes on. :] Or at least the one that it doesnt seem like I have. :p
Tomorrow, I get 50% off of my purchase at work. I love working for this company. And Ive got a pile Im excited about buying. :]

I need to finish writing a sermon. Im writing it on the secret place. A place of refuge found in God. In case you didnt know, I want to preach. And my dad has asked me to start preaching on Sunday nights. Yes, I want to preach and be involved in fashion somehow. And lots of other stuff. I want to be a stylish preacher. Someone has to help show women you CAN dress beautifully and be modest! I believe in it with my whole heart. :)

So now, onto the reason why im here. I just stumbled across Moschino's 2012 Resort Collection. IT IS GORGEOUS. I love the colors, patterns, fabrics, lengths, jackets, skirts, dresses...BASICALLY EVERYTHING INVOLVED.

I think its a laptop or Ipad case but how amazing would that be as an oversized clutch?! I might would even add a pearl or diamond brooch.

And let me add that brooch is the proper way to spell that word. Someone pleeeassseee agree!!
I love spelling it that way, too.
No taking the easy way out and spelling it B R O A C H.

On a different note, My mother lost the USB cable for the camera and I have to find it before I can blog my trip! Which is frustrating because I want to share so much!!!

There's so much, I feel really overwhelmed looking at my piles. What are some suggestions for selling clothes online if any of you have done it before? I dont want to have a yard sale, because here, people only want to pay $1 and $2 for nice dresses and like 50 cents for a shirt. Platos closet doesnt take my clothes because "Theyre too dressy". So I was thinking about selling some online maybe? Idk. I might be just getting in over my head with that.

I hope you've all had a wonderful Father's day!
My father is amazing. I love him soo much!!

We've had a great time here in Dallas and its our last night.
I have so many fashion stories to share and some great pictures.

Sadly, I did not get to go to Zara. For some reason, it was just so HARD for my family to take me. LOL. BUT that's ok because I did buy some really adorable things at Nordstrom Rack and this cute shop called Cherish. I can't wait to share them.

One of the things was a sweater. Which brings me to this post...

Holy Sweaters. No not sanctified sweaters. Sweaters with holes. :p Holey sweaters. They've been in style for a while, but I've just now hopped on the bandwagon and bought one. I loveeee it. I've already got about 2 r 3 different outfit ideas in my head for it. One of the looks I especially love is that above from Alberta Ferretti spring 2011. You put the sweater with a maxi dress or skirt-preferably a printed one. I adore this look. I encourage everyone to try it.

I also love the look by Free People above, with chunky boots. I can't wait to transition this into fall. Lets face it. I live in the south and its so hot I would die wearing a pair of boots. But for some reason right now, cowboy boots seem fine...

Im off now to watch Khloe and Lamar with my brother's girlfriend who has been a doll this entire trip. (We've both been sick but we've toughed it out together! Were going to chill by the pool later.)

Maybe it's the fact that I'm now in Texas and the Longhorns are here(not that Im even a fan), or maybe it's the fact that it is summer, but I am totally feelin' orange.
I've got a crush on Orange and I'm head over heels at this very second.
Frank Sinatra apparently said it is the happiest color.
I agree. It puts me in a good mood instantly!
Prada showed orange, Erin Featherston showed orange, and so did other designers. However, I cant take the time to search because my little brother is fighting me for the laptop to watch some mma fight. I just rolled my eyes. Imagine it for added effect.

It looks amazing, though. How do you feel about Orange ladies and gentleman?

Ive been sick today! XP
I had to leave work and I was so upset because I was gonna work a long day and I wanted the moneys :]
oh well.
I came home and turned on Valentino: The Last Emporer and stalked Vogue.com as my throat suffered with agonizing pain. *coughcough*

I love a good spread and I love luxury like this. Emma Watson looks gorgeous. And can we talk about that...rose gold is it? Rose gold has been one of my most favorite metals for a long time. Ive been very happy to have been seeing it everywhere lately. At work, I try to force people to buy rose gold jewelry. I recently bought a watch in rose gold.

You Hold My World In Your Hands

So good.
I love the way its all styled.
My challenge to you this week is to take inspiration from this collection and style an outfit like one of these. Mix textures and contrast colors. Dress down flashy pieces with functional utilitarian pieces. I dont think you can really go wrong here. Its gorgeous.

Note: I've been getting requests to do more outfit posts. Im going to try to do more outfit posts. I just cant find my camera battery charger right now. UGHHH tres frustrating.

Meanwhile some friends from school and I reunited at a church camp service last night!! I wish I had a full picture of my outfit. It was a maxi dress that parted and ruffled in the front and and longer in the back. I wore it with gold metallic wedges and a gold metallic box clutch with a rhinestone on top.

God is Good

Today is the 16th anniversary of the church that my dad pastors. Its been a long,hard road full of sacrifices but definitely worth seeing lives changed and knowing that I always have a place to go that I can find support. All glory and thanks be to God. You may not be religous but you can definitely agree in celebrating hard work dedication and sacrifice.

My dad was a drug addict and alcoholic. He knew he was called to pastor but ran from it. He tried to at least. LOL. People looked at him and would have said that he wouldnt have a future. But he knew he did and gave up that life. He found God in a church here in Memphis Tn and got the Holy Ghost. He met my mother at that church and married her. They had my brother and I and pretty soon after years of praying, they knew it was time God wanted them to start the church.

We started out in a small building that wasnt much of a building. It had a sway back roof and needed a lot of repairs. LOL. My dads office was a freezing in the winter and a sweatbox in the summer. Tons of mice came through and we even had a cat chase a mouse and fall through the ceiling during my dad's preaching. Haha. But we had good times and saw many lives changed and genuine miracles take place. I got baptized in that building and decided I would live for God there. We built our new building in 2012 and it is beautiful. People tried to tell us that we would never have a youth group or a church choir. Our choir director at the time didnt know how to play piano and prayed that she could learn over night. She learned chords and a song over night and got a choir together. God blessed it and We've since been named best choir among the Pentecostal church choirs in Memphis. (We love good music and Worship to God) We also have a youth group and are growing.

It goes to show that it takes faith and determination and you can achieve anything. There have been times that it has been rough. We didnt know where money was going to come from. Money comes from saints who give in the offering and pay their tithes (which according to the bible is very important and necessary. You better pay tithes if you want to be blessed. If you give you WILL receive more than you gave! Its the law of giving) and sometimes it didnt look good. The church needs money to run on. Electricity and bills have to be paid. Ministry things have to go on. Like helping needy people and reachnig the community. Pastors arent rich. If they are its because God blessed them. They sure didnt start out that way. lol. And they cant do it by themselves. BUT GOD ALWAYS CAME THROUGH AND WE NEVER GAVE UP EVEN WHEN WE FELT LIKE WE WANTED TO. And we became stronger and grew.

Dont ever give up. :] Believe.

Polka Dots have been taking over my life.

My friend D teases me about it.

I wish you could see all the crazy polka dots I have.
Im thinking to do an entire polka dotted outfit just to see what everyone would say.
I feel like it would be tremendous.

And on a side note, Ive realized I never do outfit posts anymore.

Im really sad about it.

Ill have to change that.
Especially, when I wear this ridiculous polka dotted ensemble.

I adore the sassiness, especially when paired with all of the sassy accessories.

It reminded me of this one that Emma Roberts wore on the cover of Teen Vogue a few years ago.

I wanted this dress so bad. And they have a black and yellow polka dotted dress at JCP and its AMAZING. Too bad, Im pretty sure its gone. Even online. :[ Sad face.

Spring Fling

Due to my lack of time and internet service at home over spring break, I obviously have not posted. This has been a terribly unfortunate occurance, as I am in love with blogging whenever I can do it.
